Why Whisper of Botanicals Exists
Our Founder
Whisper of Botanicals was founded by Benoit, originally from France and now at home in Vancouver, with a simple belief: skincare should be easier to understand, easier to trust, and gentler by design.
That belief came from personal experience, from a long-standing sensitivity to health-conscious choices, and from one shared frustration: simple, thoughtful skincare was harder to find in Canada than it should be.
A Personal Belief
After years of dealing with sensitive skin and trying products that often felt more complicated than helpful, Benoit became drawn to a more minimal approach: fewer unnecessary ingredients, more transparency, and routines focused on what the skin actually needs.
Like many people, he had also seen how health can be affected by everyday choices — from what we eat to what we apply on our skin. That made simple, cleaner, more understandable skincare feel less like a trend, and more like a personal standard.
A New Life in Vancouver
When Benoit moved to Vancouver, he wanted to keep the skincare habits he had known in Europe: minimalist formulas, carefully chosen ingredients, simple routines, and the possibility to make or personalize products at home.
But recreating that approach in Canada was harder than expected. Trusted European products were expensive to import, local options felt scattered, and finding ingredients, tools, glass packaging, and reliable guidance often meant searching across multiple websites.
A Conversation with Célia
The idea became clearer through conversations with Célia, who had recently moved to Canada too and shared the same care for simple ingredients, DIY personal care, and more intentional routines.
She brought the perspective of someone who genuinely loved making things herself — not in a complicated way, but as a way to better understand what goes into a product and feel more connected to the ritual.
The same question kept coming back:
Why should simple, thoughtful skincare feel so complicated to find?
